I have been printmaking for years but recently making woodcuts as well.

Woodcut printmaking is both a liberating and frustrating process; the print results are often wonderful—rough, bold and simple—but engraving wood can be terribly difficult.

To offset some of my woodcutting inadequacies, I sometimes scan a wood block print, then digitally make a silkscreen, then print directly from the screen. I found that I have more control of the results this way.
